Press Release of Senator Lugar Lugar Hosts Veteran's Benefits Fair Friday, July 2, 2010 U. S. Sen. Dick Lugar is encouraging Hoosier veterans to participate in Veterans’ Benefits Fair on Saturday, July 17 from 12 p.m.-4 p.m. at Foster Park in Kokomo. Foster Park is located at the corner of Washington and Superior Streets in Kokomo.   “I am pleased to provide a forum where members of the military, veterans and their families can obtain helpful information,” Lugar said.   “I urge Hoosiers to take advantage of the many resources that will be available at the Veterans’ Benefit Fair in Kokomo.”   In cooperation with the Howard County Veterans Affairs Office, Lugar invited a variety of veterans’ organizations as well as state and federal agencies to provide information to veterans about healthcare, benefits and finances. Participants include the Veterans Administration, National Guard Family Programs, Indiana WorkOne and many veterans’ service organizations.   Lugar’s office will also be on hand to assist constituents with issues concerning the federal government including veteran’s affairs, visa and passport information, immigration, social security and more.    The Veterans Benefits Fair is in conjunction with the Kokomo Faces of Freedom Benefit concert. Admission is free and attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable items to donate to the Veterans Food Pantry in Kokomo.   For more information, please contact Lugar’s office at (317) 226-5555 or by email at emmy_huffman@lugar.senate.gov.   ###
