At a June 4, 2009, Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on U.S.-China Cooperation on Climate Change, Senator Dick Lugar sought clarification on the potential costs of climate change legislation, Chinas possible membership in the International Energy Agency and the important role diplomacy will play in future negotiations on climate change.
