Flag Requests It is possible to purchase commemorative and non-commemorative flags from the United States Congress. PLEASE NOTE: A $4.05 FEE WILL BE CHARGED PER FLAG FLOWN OVER THE CAPITOL.
Insurance: As of June 28, 2001, Senator Lugar's office will no longer be able to provide insurance for flags shipped. THIS OFFICE CANNOT ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR FLAGS THAT ARE LOST IN THE MAIL. Commemorative Flag If you wish to have a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol in honor of an individual, organization or event, you will need to order a commemorative flag. When ordering a commemorative flag, please indicate the date you want the flag to be flown and the person, organization or event being recognized. Also, indicate if you wish the flag sent directly to another person, and please include their name and address. In response to recent legislation, a $4.05 fee will be charged PER FLAG flown over the Capitol. Please add this amount to the prices listed above. Non-Commemorative Flag Flags can also be purchased for general use. General purpose flags are not flown over the Capitol and are not assessed the $4.05 charge. Shipping and Handling Please include $4.00 PER FLAG (both commemorative and non-commemorative) for shipping and handling charges. Payment Please make checks payable in the appropriate amount (flag, flying fee, shipping and handling) to KEEPER OF THE STATIONERY. For your convenience, a Flag Order Form has been provided to assist you with your order. Please print out this form and return it with your completed order. |
